melj1213. I don’t know either. ANGSTY!!!! It’s also one more for the Iker chart! Lyrics are from this song which you don’t have to listen to but it’s good so why not?
You should have lied / Cause' your stupid mistake
Made my world crash down / Now its goodbye
No you can't take it back / Once the truth has come out of your mouth
So you tried to be honest / But honesty blew it this time
You should have lied
Iker knew as soon as it had happened that he would regret his deed for the rest of eternity. The guilt flooded into his mind and destroyed it; his mind had the same chance to fight off the guilt the same way an orange has the chance to fight of a freight train. As soon as Sergio had redressed and left, Iker had gone to the bathroom to throw up. It wasn’t that Sergio was a bad lover, no. He had been on the better side of exceptional; that is what made it all that much worse.
Iker leaned his head against the cold porcelain and prayed for a solution that would let Cesc somehow forgive him. He knew the situation was completely hopeless—the one thing Cesc did not tolerate was infidelity. Cesc’s family had been torn apart by “irreconcilable differences” and Iker had promised him that he would never do such a thing. Cesc had kissed him that night and given him his heart on a silver plate.
And now Iker had irreparably destroyed everything.
It was all a horribly stupid mistake and no matter how much he wished he didn’t have to do it, Iker picked himself up off the floor and made his way over to where his phone rest on the nightstand. Cesc had spent the day with Xabi, catching up on old times, for the one free day of La Seleccion’s latest call up. Iker knew that it was over from the first kiss—the best relationship he had ever had, now lay in ruined pieces.
He swallowed hard and pressed the ‘call’ button. Upon hearing the light and chirpy “hello?”, Iker barely managed to repress a sob.
“Come back to the room. We have to talk.”
It took less than ten minutes, ten agonizing minutes, for Cesc to come back. His worried face came into the room and Iker just took that moment to remember everything about Cesc before he broke his heart.
“What’s wrong Iker?” Cesc asked, walking over to Iker. “What happened?”
Iker shook his head and tried to hold back his guilt for just one more moment. “I want to remember you like this, for one minute please.”
Cesc blinked confused at him but didn’t say anything.
“I did something very stupid Cesc. I’m so so so sorry.” Iker blurted out and wished with all his fragmented heart that he could go back in time and change what he’d done. “I want to take back what I did. I didn’t mean for it to happen, it didn’t mean anything.”
Iker saw Cesc’s face crumpling in front of him and it was killing him. Finally, Cesc spoke. It was only a simple word, laced with hurt and anger and betrayal. Iker swallowed and knew that the tiny spark of hope he had that Cesc would somehow forgive him was never going to be fanned into a flame.
“Who?”
“Sergio.” Iker admitted painfully.
Cesc’s eyes close and Iker wished that he still had the right to go touch him, comfort him.
“I swear to you Cesc it didn’t mean anything.”
“You think that makes it okay?!” Cesc yelled, anger lashing out. “You think it’s okay that it didn’t mean anything? It was just a simple fuck, right Iker? Just to let you know Iker, that hurts so much worse than if he was something important to you.”
Cesc turned and started for the door. Iker stepped forward. “Please, I’m so sorry Cesc. Can I—”
“No! I don’t want to know what you want to do. You can’t take back what you did and I will never forgive you for this Iker. You knew how much it would hurt me! You still did it anyway!” There was lightening in Cesc’s eyes as they flashed with anger. He turned away and walked out the door. Over his shoulder, he yelled, “make sure you and your whore stay as far a-fucking-way from me as possible.”
The door slammed and Iker jumped. The carefully constructed walls that he had built around himself for years caved in all at once and a flood of regret poured over him. He knew that it had been over since he first touched Sergio. His newfound loneliness was self-induced and there was nothing he could to go back and change what had happened. No matter how much he desperately wanted to piece together Cesc’s broken heart, he knew that it was all over, forever.
