Part One: Someone New | Part Two: Looking At You | Part Three: Good Times

Iker looked around the room and made sure it was clean enough to receive his guest. He didn’t like to admit to himself but he’d grown used to having Villa come around during the call-ups.

After the CSI: marathon night, Iker had been happily surprised when Villa had come back the next night. His excuse that time was that Cesc, Fernando, and Sergio were all playing truth or dare and eyeing him up like bait. Iker had shaken his head and laughed and had let the man inside.

On the third night of the call-up, Iker was not exactly surprised that Villa had shown up but he was happy about it. He’d wondered all day if David would return again. The fourth night and Iker was pleased.

By the last night of the call up, the sixth in total, David had thanked Iker for the nice time he’d spent with him. Iker had been a little worried about that night. From the tone, it sounded like Villa was thanking him for what he’d done and that he didn’t expect any further input on Iker’s part.

For that reason alone, Iker made sure to at least text the Valencian player a few times a week (if not once a day) and on the first night of the next call up, he made an offer to the Asturian.

“Want to do something tonight?” Villa looked at Iker like he wasn’t sure what the man’s motives were. Iker thought that maybe Villa was thinking that he would take advantage of him. “You don’t have to…just thought I would ask in case you wanted to do something.”

Villa shrugged. “I’ll think about it.”

Then he’d walked off and hadn’t looked back. Iker had wondered if he was going to come up or not. It turned out that David did, late that night, and they had watched a movie.

For the past three national call-ups, David had come to Iker’s room almost every night and they had done something. They’d eaten dinner, talked, watched movies, played cards—just had an all around good time.

Iker supposed somewhere along the line they had become friends. He almost laughed at the thought. Who would have thought that he and Villa would have grown to be friends?

A quick tap against the door and Iker was up and going for it. He looked once around the clean room and then opened the door to see his favorite Asturian striker.

“Hola.” Iker greeted and Villa nodded handing Iker a bottle of wine. “Party favor?”

“Gift.” David shrugged. Iker read the label and whistled at the expensive brand of red Spanish wine.

“Thank you David.” Iker smiled at him and Villa’s lips twitched in a small smile of his own. “Dinner?”

Villa shrugged. “Room service?”

“You order, I’ll pour the wine.” Iker went over to the bar and reached for the glasses when he felt a hand on his arm.

He blinked and David was watching him; he was completely focused on him. Iker felt a little nervous under that stare. Were David’s eyes always so pretty? Did his breath always smell like fresh toothpaste?

“You call, I’ll pour.” Villa pried the bottle from Iker’s loose fingers and then backed away.

Iker cleared his throat. “Uhm…uh okay.”

The rest of the night passed without incident but Iker’s thoughts kept going back to that one little moment. Why did he freak out so badly over a little touch? Did he want Villa to touch him? Yes, Iker’s mind surprised him by answering quickly, yes he did.

Iker swallowed down a gulp of wine as he looked at Villa over the table. Villa wasn’t looking at him at that particular second but Iker wondered what was happening.

He wasn’t falling for David Villa. Was he?
