Title: A Bad Day

Iker frowned as he missed another shot by Guti. He was just off form today and it was aggravating him.

It had all started when he had woken up late thanks to him forgetting to turn his alarm clock on the night before. He had had to miss breakfast, and missing a meal always made him irritable. On the way to training, he’d gotten caught in a traffic jam, which had made him even more late.

Then, as if that wasn’t enough, he had to watch Sese fawn over Guti as the blonde celebrated scoring on him. That was exactly what he needed right now, Iker thought sarcastically to himself.

Iker proceeded to ignore Sergio throughout the rest of practice and even in the showers. He ignored the way Sergio waved like a lunatic at him and even when he called him over. Iker pretended to not hear him as he walked out of the warm showers with a towel wrapped around his waist.

He was thinking that a nice night of sitting in front of the television with his dinner was just the thing to help him relax when all of a sudden he was six feet shorter and his butt was in pain. Dazed, he looked around and the first thing he noticed was Guti holding a hand over his mouth to keep from laughing and Sergio who had a hand over his mouth also, but his cheeks were turning bright red.

“Iker…I’m so so sorry!” He squeaked and took a step towards him.

Iker wondered what the heck he was apologizing for when Raul came in at the moment and looked at Sergio angrily.

“Sergio, the next time you spill sun tan lotion on the floor, clean it up!”

Title: Don’t Cry Sweetheart

Nando didn’t want to cry, he didn’t want to sob. He didn’t want to bawl his eyes like a baby. So he didn’t. He replayed every moment of the Chelsea match in his head, wondering what he’d done wrong in silence. The entire trip to Madrid was spent with his fingers touching his lips while he stared out the window of the airplane and at the clouds.

He made it successfully to Sergio’s apartment without letting a single tear slip through his iron will’s control. He paid the cabbie and then used his key to get upstairs.

A slight tap against the wooden doorframe announced his presence and he leaned back, chewing his bottom lip. He only had to wait a moment before Sergio opened the door. Sergio pulled him into a hug at first sight.

“Fernando…”

And that was all it took for El Nino to break down into tears.

There were things that made him happy. Things like his sons getting good grades in school and making friends. Winning with Real Madrid always put a smile on his face. Even seeing Paolo winning with Milan was enough to smile about these days.

But then there were things that made him really happy. Then there was the one thing that made him the happiest. That was when he was wrapped shamelessly in Paolo’s arms. When they both sought comfort in each other and drew pleasure from the other’s body, those were the best of times. Nothing mattered but the two of them in those stolen moments of passion and love and just complete and utter bliss.

It was the perfect shelter and the safest place Raul could ever think to be.

Raul should have guessed something was up when he walked into the locker room and everybody looked up at him and silence swept the room. He had subconsciously rubbed his face to get anything off that might have been there. He stared the squad down until they resumed ‘normal’ function.

He should have been quicker to note the not-so-hidden looks that were shot to him via Sergio and Iker. He should have picked up on the way Guti, his beloved Guti, tip-toed to the trainer’s and come out with something under his arm.

Raul should have been wiser than walk right into the prank set by Guti, Iker, and Sergio—but he wasn’t.
