sony_boy. Terribly late on this one, sorry dear! I hope you like it and that it was worth the wait. <3
Iker never thinks of David as a great philosopher or even an in-depth thinker. He guesses that David could be one of those, maybe, but that isn’t really who he is. David is simply an easy going man that looks sensational, almost always, and who is very nice despite what the media portrays him to be.
That’s why he is surprised at the amount of wisdom David has about him the night he says something strange. Strange, because Iker doesn’t understand then what David means. He remembers the way David spoke, distantly and looking away from him out over the balcony and at the city of Madrid.
“If I disappeared one day, would anybody go to find me just because they wanted to meet…me?”
Iker frowns after he translates the whispered question. His first answer is ‘yes, of course! Don’t be silly!’ But the look on David’s face when Iker moves around to see it stops the words before they leave his mouth. That isn’t what David wants to hear. Iker isn’t sure what exactly he wants to know so he stays quiet. Simply taking David’s hand is all he does because he isn’t sure what else to say. He hopes the small gesture is enough to convey how much he loves him and that yes, he would go find him no matter what.
A few weeks later and David is gone. Iker wonders back to that night on the balcony and wonders that if he had actually answered the question, said anything, maybe things would’ve been different. Maybe… Maybe.
