A/N: I was bored and the inspiration to work on my growing pile of fics wasn’t there so…the idea for these came up. They’re just random drabbles/ficlets that I came up with while listening to random tunes in my library. There’s a good mix in here so hopefully there’s something for everybody :-)

Song: These Days
Pairing: Raul/Guti
Rating: PG-13

Failure was a very hard thing to admit, especially for him. Regret was another thing that was extraordinarily hard to swallow. Feeling like a failure and regretting the failure for the same action, the same moment of time that could have changed everything was something that had made a hole in his chest.

Raul didn’t like to admit when he was wrong, but letting Guti go and then not going after him, well, that hurt like hell. Perhaps it was worth his pride to just go see Jose one more time…

Iker sometimes wondered if he was crazy for the reasons why he loved Cesc. His kitchen was a mess, his bedroom had never been more cluttered or dirty, his bathroom looked like a hurricane had been let loose, his living room was in shambles.

Then Cesc turned his wide eyes on Iker and grinned simply because he had walked into the room, Iker was reminded why he was devoted to this knucklehead.

Villa was tired and hot. He thought he was getting a headache and the last thing he wanted to do was get on the bus and go back to Valencia. As soon as he took his seat, the loudness assaulted his ears and he groaned in pain and put his head against the window. He didn’t even look over to see who had taken the seat next to his.

However, he jumped when he felt warm, firm lips press against his cheek. He looked over at who had kissed him and saw Silva smiling brightly at him. Suddenly things didn’t seem so bad after all.

Pepe grinned sleepily when he felt Alvaro’s lips on his neck. He was half asleep still but that didn’t mean he didn’t know that it was his Alvie.

“You’re back.” He rumbled sleepily.

“I never left you.”

And then Alvaro kissed him until he was fully awake.

“Joey, where are you going?” Frank asked leaning in the doorway.

“Somewhere where you won’t hurt me.”

“What are you talking about?”

Joe zipped up his bag. “I’m not here for you to fuck whenever you want anymore. I’m leaving.”

Frank stared at Joey but he brushed past him. He was done with Frank Lampard and he didn’t want to waste another second of his time by looking back.

The pain seared through his bloodstream like living fire and pooled in a spot heavy on his heart. It felt as if all of his being was being ripped apart starting at that point and there wasn’t anything he could do about it.

Knowing that this day would eventually come wasn’t making the pain any easier. It had to be done, he had to hurt him to save him—to save his career.

Maybe one day Bojan would see that. And maybe one day he could actually look the boy in the eyes again without feeling the pain.

Pairing: Steven/Xabi, Stevie/Fernando

He told the papers that he came back because he cared about the team, he did care about them. He told his wife that he was going back to see how the boys were doing, he did miss them.

Xabi didn’t expect to see Stevie and Nando together. It was with a heavy heart and a nod that he told Steven it was okay, he should move on and Nando was a great guy.

So why was it so hard and painful to walk away?

Rating: PG-13

Bastian loved Lukas with everything he had. He told Poldi every chance he got and it still wasn’t enough.

Lukas left Munich to go back to them. Betrayal hurt and that was why Basti refused to answer Lukas’ calls. He wasn’t in the mood to deal with Lukas’ feeble attempts at an apology.

As a result, Bastian was slowly moving on without Lukas.

Whoever said love wasn’t fair clearly knew what he was going through.

Pablo knew it was the truth when he realized that he had fallen head over heels in love with someone, his best friend. He had never realized that his soul mate would be a guy—let alone a sweet, funny, and charming guy like Juan.

Pablo knew that his heart wasn’t going to stop beating for Juan. That was why Pablo was scared to death to admit to his friend that he was holding his soul in his hand.

They called him a Judas, a traitor. Stevie couldn’t believe it when Mikey had told him—he hadn’t spoken to him for a couple months as a result.

Mikey had been grateful to every God he could think of when Stevie had shown up in Manchester to see if he was okay. Mikey had shown Steven that everything really was okay and that he still loved him.

Stevie wasn’t comfortable with it, Mikey knew that. It was why he loved Steven all the more for trying.

They had been through a lot, some of it was bad but most of it was good. They had shared a lot of memories over the years and, while some weren’t always clear through an alcoholic haze, Sergio wouldn’t trade any of them for anything.

Every time he and Nando were together—it was his heaven.

David had come back to Madrid for a ‘visit’. Iker remembered with a bitter taste in his mouth how he had tried, begged even, to get David to stay. His pleas had fallen on deaf ears and David had fucked him that night and then left the next morning.

Iker had tried desperately to be enough for David. He tried to be someone that David would want for the rest of his life. Iker knew that he had failed. He had fallen hard and landed even harder when the clouds of love had parted and sent him to the ground.

No, Iker wouldn’t see David. Not because of the painful reunion but because Iker simply didn’t care about him anymore.

Pairing: Xavi/Bojan
Rating: PG-13

At first, Bojan had been extremely shy around the experienced players—especially Xavi. Xavi was hard to get to know and he could be extremely intimidating.

Slowly Bojan had moved a little closer to Xavi in the locker room and had even done a few warm-up exercises with him.

Xavi had seen Bojan as a brat in the beginning. Now he was as enraptured by the green-eyed teddy bear as Bojan was deeply attracted to him.

Pairing: Guti/Esteban
Rating: PG-13

Guti was overall a good guy, Esteban knew that. He knew that Guti was complicated and wasn’t the world’s easiest person to understand or be around sometimes. But Esteban loved him for all of his faults, perhaps a little too much.

It was why he was terribly afraid that one day Guti was going to say that he didn’t love him anymore and leave him. Esteban hoped and prayed that day never came.

Sometimes things really did go down the toilet. There were moments where it felt like the earth had fallen from underneath their feet. Sometimes pain and loneliness were constant companions.

No matter how dark things got, at the end of the tunnel, the last light of the day revealed that the two of them were standing together. It was the simplest answer to any problem.

Gerard had never been happier when he found out that Cesc was going to come home to Barcelona. It felt as if the world couldn’t be brighter and even the sun seemed happy at the news.

The first thing Cesc did as soon as he dropped his bags off at his new house was go see Gerard. The second thing he did was jump on Geri and kiss him deeply.

It was good to be home.
