Title: I Couldn't Help Myself, Chapter One: London Calling
Characters: OFC’s, OMC’s for this chapter; Future chapters will have: John Terry, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard & others
Rating: PG-13 (this chapter) maybe something higher later on
Words: 1031
A/N: The title of this comes because, well…because I couldn’t help myself. Plus there’s a certain dream that inspired this *facepalm* There aren’t any players in this chapter, but I promise they are comin’ soon.
Cameo’s by some buddies of mine as well as a few players, of course. Please take this part seriously: this is not intended to be realistic, it’s fiction. I just took liberty with a few things. Having said that, please enjoy. :-)

“Oh my gosh! Can you like totally believe this?!”
“Like no! It’s so unbelievable!”
Jessica made faces to her best friend with the words of the two blonde girls in front of them. Her best friend, Tyler, was trying really hard not to laugh—so hard in fact that he had his hand shoved in his mouth.
“I so totally wanna go to Harrods and and see the palaces!” One of them squealed while the other giggled.
“And meet Prince William too no doubt.” Jessica mumbled and turned back to her book before the other two could glare at her.
“What would you know, you book loving freak?” One of them, Cassidy, sneered.
“Well, at least I could name his relatives without having to go ‘like’ and ‘totally’ every other word.” Jessica smiled sweetly at them.
“Only because you like totally live in a history book.” Jenna, the other bottle-blonde said in a haughty voice.
“And a huge thank you to you Jenna for proving my point.” Jessica gave a fake round of applause while Tyler couldn’t take anymore and burst out laughing.
“Shut up science nerd.” Cassidy grimaced at Tyler in his seat.
“Oh now you went and hurt the poor guy’s feelings.” Jessica sarcastically admonished. “Don’t worry Ty, I’m proud of you.”
“Thanks Jess.” Tyler smiled fondly at his best friend.
“Oh please, you two are like perfect for each other—think of all the mutantly freakish babies you two will have.” Jenna had her nose stuck up at the mention of it.
“Is it really hard to make your face look like that?” Tyler asked.
“Screw you Tyler.” Cassidy and Jenna turned around and plopped down in their seats in a wave of blonde extensions.
“Remind me why we had to sit behind the Barbie twins?” Tyler asked, shifting in his seat.
“Because there wasn’t anything else.”
“Oh. Right.”
“Don’t worry, we’ll be out of this contraption soon enough.” Jessica looked out the bus window to see London, more specifically Kensington. Their hotel wasn’t too far away in Westminster, but with all the London traffic…
“What do you want to see the most?” Tyler asked looking up from his cell phone.
“Oh…gosh, I have no idea. It’s London, there’s a lot to see!” Jessica said admiringly. “Do you know?”
“Sure, I want to see the science museum!” Tyler had the far away look in his eye and Jessica giggled. “Always the scientist. I remember when your dad took you to Cairo and you saw the pyramids. What is it that you want to see this time?”
“The Cairo thing was awesome.” Tyler grinned. “I want to see the stuff about the 1800’s and the Industrial Revolution.”
“Okay that one is acceptable because London was the—”
“Oh would you two pleaseshutup?!” Jenna whined. Tyler and Jessica rolled their eyes at each other, but did lower their voices.
This was the way it had always been between the two of them, pals thicker than thieves since sixth grade. Now, several years later, the two were seniors in college and had taken this trip together. Their history professor had wanted to go take a class to London for years, but this was the first year he’d been able to do so.
“Finally!” Jessica said enthusiastically. “We’re here!”
Tyler and Jessica both looked out the window to see the Thames River flowing by before the bus turned left and passed the MI5 building before coming to rest outside their hotel. Tyler and Jess rolled their eyes when Cassidy complained about the lack of ‘splendor’ that their hotel had, or well, didn’t have.
“Come on Ty, let’s go check our rooms out.” Jessica grabbed her bags and followed the queue of college students getting off the bus. Tyler was right behind her and they were happy to be in London.
“I can’t wait to see Madam Tussauds.” A mutual friend of their’s, Emily, said when she saw her two friends coming towards her.
“Oooh, that’d be cool to see too.” Jessica said standing next to Emily.
“I don’t get what you’d want to go see a bunch of wax people for.” Tyler rolled his eyes.
“Because, it’s fun!” The two girls said in tandem.
“You know, Professor Loudon said that we might get to go see Wembley…” Jessica wiggled her eyebrows excitedly. Tyler and Emily rolled their eyes at her.
“Only you would like to go see that.”
“What? Everybody knows I love foot—soccer.” Jessica caught her slip, barely. She always referred to the sport by the American name with Americans and with everyone else, it was football.
“Foot soccer? That’s a new name for it.” Tyler joked while walking into the lobby.
“Oh shut up Ty-Ty.” Jessica used the nickname he hated and got a grimace for her effort.
When the rooms were sorted, Emily and Jessica were sharing together while across the hall, Tyler and another boy, a football player, were sharing.
“Oh why do I have to room with the jock?” Tyler whined as the two girls and he opted out of taking the elevator and took the stairs instead.
“You’re just lucky I guess.” Jessica, as always, was in the lead.
“Well, Robert isn’t that bad…” Emily defended the football player and Jessica and Tyler stopped to look at her. “Well he’s not…”
“I think somebody has a crush, Jess.”
“Oh definitely yes.”
“Come on you guys, the floor is up another flight of stairs.” Emily marched past Jessica with a red face. Jessica and Tyler laughed as they followed after her.
“See ya later Ty.” Jessica called while the two girls walked into their room. “Oh this is nice.”
“It is!” Emily laughed and claimed the bed next to the window.
“That’s the one I wanted!” Jessica faked a whine before throwing her bag and duffle onto the bed.
“Too bad Jessie.” Emily stuck her tongue out at her.
“Oh fine. Be that way.” Jess reflected the gesture before flopping down on her bed.
“I’m taking a nap. That jet-lag killed me.” Emily moved over to lie on her bed the right way and closed her eyes. Jessica shook her head and smiled.
Life was good.
